Craig is a really nice guy and we had a great shoot. He was willing to go alot of different places with me and didn't seem to mind. It was fun and we got some nice shots.

June 22nd Wedding, Mr and Mrs. England

This is a wedding I shot on Sunday the 22nd of June, the day I left for Bar Harbor. It was a wonderful intimate wedding. Only about 13 guests. The rain held off until the cake cutting, which was fine because all of the outside portraits were done. The England's are such a cute couple, they are young and in love. It was nice to see fond way they look at each other. They are a beautiful bride and groom.Here are a few favorites.

Sudsbury Inn Wedding June 21st

I had the pleasure of photographing Dani and Shiniki Kida's wedding on the 21st of June. It was a beautiful day, a little muggy but no rain. Here are a few favorites of mine.

Acadia Park Bar Harbor

I haven't blogged for a week now.


































I was very fortunate to be able to attend The Maine Jay Stock Workshop, "Journey" co-owned by Leann LaFleur and Barbara Tobey. It was a great week, we had fabulous models and set ups. I gave a lecture on blogging and Gail Nogle of Dallas Texas gave a lecture on light. We had a wonderful time with a lot of sharing of ideas and encouragement of our craft. We share marketing tips, (which is fine because we all live in different parts of the country) We wouldn't want the same marketing strategies as someone in the same area. We had a 4 am shoot on the coast which was fantastic. Our models were dressed in antique white dresses of the early 1900's with white hats and parasol. We had a little fairy in the Japanese Asticu Garden. A lobster boat ride and documented their work, retrieving and baiting traps. A beautiful Russian Young lady in the fog and rain at Sand Beach. A potter in Bar Harbor, and a watercolor artist. These are a few of my favorites of the week.


We met a very talented and famous photographer Tony Sweet at The Colony, the cottages we stayed in. He gave us a presentation of his work and some photoshops tips. What a gifted man. The cottages are nice and are very reasonable. You are across from the ocean and wake to a beautiful view of the sunset over the ocean.


I am very busy the next 5 days. A wedding at the Kawahnee Inn on Saturday, a Senior session Sunday morning, a Sunset Coast family shoot Sunday night, and 5 seniors to shoot by Wednesday. WOW! I can't wait. I will try to keep you updated. I had a beautiful wedding on Sunday the 22nd. The lupines were gorgeous and the bride and groom were sweet. I will post a few pics soon, but I have to get to work editing. I also had a wonderful wedding and reception at the Sudsbury Inn in Bethel on the 21st and will post a few from their wedding. They live in Japan and have returned already.

Taylor, Mountain Valley High

We had a shoot on Thursday. We got some great shots between the showers that seemed to go on and on. We still have to finish our session another day, but we got some very natural images of Taylor before it rained to hard.

dancers (Study one)

Early this morning I shot 3 dancers in the fog. It was misting most of the morning, but I like the mood of the photos. The girls were really patient. They didn't complain, even when they were wet to their knees. It warmed up a bit when the sun started peeking through the fog and clouds. It was a fun shoot. I think the girls had a good time. Thank you so much Emily, Kayla, and Ashley. I hope you like the photos.

night river

I did a night shoot of the river by my house last night. It was misting out and I was on the bridge between Mexico and Dixfield. It was a little scary with the cars going by and not really seeing me. I really like this image.

My new studio

I have to say, I love my new studio. The window light I get is incredible. I just love they way my studio portraits are looking. I have participated in a lot of lighting, posing, and senior portrait classes over the past year. My senior portraits this year really show how seeing, really seeing light, makes a big difference in the quality of your portraits. I have been working on setting myself apart from other photographers, I think I have. I take the time to find great locations, different from other local photographers, so your portraits look original. I mean this is a positive way, I really take pride in what I do and try my best to please my clients. I want to give them the best portraits possible and to capture their true personality.
Emily and Kayla love their senior portraits. They have them on their facebook and myspace pages for all their friends to see and make comments.
Just remember, what do you want in your yearbook, a great image of yourself to be proud of and remembered by, or an ok image that's just good enough? Think about it. Just because your uncle, friends mom, or grandparent owns a new digital camera doesn't make them a professional. Can they find great light to make you look your best? Can they pose you in a manner that flatters your body? Do they have the latest equipment, software, and expertise to create beautiful portraits of you at this important time of your life?
