Tommy Puiia, Mountain Valley High

Tommy and his mom decided they would like the location shoot to be at his great grandmothers farm. I was a bit concerned at first, only because of the light. Lighting in photography is the #1 element. Without great light the most beautiful location will look bad. Luckily we had both, great location and good light. It started out a bit bright. Tommy was squinting a lot. I am happy to say mother nature gave us a few fluffy clouds to make our light gorgeous. His family's farm was not only a beautiful spot but a wonderful time. I hope Tommy and his mom look back fondly on the session and have some new and meaningful memories of the family farm.

Michael Hanson, Mountain Valley High

Michael was a blast. I had a great time with him. He has an easy going personality. We had great conversation and some unique shots.

Mr.James Moulton and his own blogspot

James Didn't get his own blog. I clumped about 4 seniors together in one blog awhile ago. I have known James since he was about 6 years old. He has matured into a really nice young man. He is very polite, sweet, and an all around great guy. He has a great future. I wish him the best.

Mathew Mowatt M.V.H.S.

Matt had his shoot on location only. It was a nice sunny day. I tried to take my seniors to different locations so Studio 6 seniors have a variety to their look and not to recreate to many of my shots. Sometimes with the light situations it is hard not to go to some of the same places. I also want my seniors to look different than other local photographers seniors. I listen to the ideas of my clients and try to create portraits to satisfy them. Matt's shoot was a great example, he didn't have any preference of where we go. He was there to please his gram. I decided to do a variety of places to please both his grandmother and Matt. He was a good sport about it, we went a few places that took about 80 minutes. He was cool about that and didn't complain. Matt was serious and didn't smile much, but that's okay. The session was a success.

Brittany Milligan and yet another rainy day

Brittany came to the studio on a rainy morning last week. We thought it may clear up but it didn't happen. We decided to do the studio shoot and wait for the location shots for another day. I hope we can get a nice day soon.
Brittany's wardrobe was very casual so our shots reflect that. We talked about some other shots in the studio when the location shoot happens. The idea is a bit more high fashion. It will be fun.

Here comes the sun

WOW! The Sun came out for a change. I had a Shoot today with Mathew and we had blue sky! I was so excited to see the sun. I had the idea for the flag shot for a while and I wanted to find the right senior. Mathew was perfect for this shoot, he is an all american guy. Mathew doesn't mind being photographed so that helps. So whenever I have a brainstorm I will call Matt.

Alex Gagnon and the search for blue sky

Alex Gagnon and his family met me in town Rumford to start his outdoor/location session. I really wanted blue sky, for a change, in his portraits. I know there has been a few sunny days with beautiful blue sky. Not on the days I have sessions scheduled. The blue sky is elusive. I hope August is a better month.

So, we chased the elusive blue sky all over Rumford through Mexico and finally landed in Dixfield where it peaked through for about 3 shots. Poor Alex, he was very patient with me and had a good time. We ended up at my "secret spot". I have been going to this spot for about 8 years. We found out we just missed Mr.Charlie Moore from ESPN, who is a somewhat famous fisherman that has his own show on ESPN. (It won't be my secret spot anymore.) I hadn't heard of him, but Alex had. He was pretty excited to find out that Charlie had taped a fishing show for his 2009 show. It is a cool event to have happen to our area. Charlie and his staff went to eat lobster rolls at Rowes After they finished taping the fishing segment. I heard they taped the front of the building for the show. I guess It would have been nice to have met him, but we were to late. By the way he caught 17 fish!
Alex had a few shots with Courtney before she had to leave. They are a cute couple. We had a great time. Alex is a really nice guy, very polite, and has a very pleasant personality. I wonder if Alex wishes we had the chance to take a shot of him with Charlie?

Peaceful Anticipation

I photographed Miss Becca last week. she is in her last trimester and is at the perfect stage in her pregnancy for portraits. She is such a beautiful young woman. I wanted to take advantage of her beauty and create photographs she will admire for years to come. I envisioned the low light for a peaceful yet dramatic look.

Becca already has a handsome little man, Vincent. He is about 4 years old. We wanted a few shots with Vinnie and mom's belly, but he was not in the mood. The portraits are gorgeous. Maybe before the birth we can persuade Vinnie to take a few shots with mom.

I think Becca is hoping for a girl, but she is waiting the old fashioned way to find out. I am sure they are anticipating the birth to meet their new little bundle of joy.
