The glow of pregnancy

Ruby is one of the most beautiful pregnant women I have ever seen. She just glows and looks so happy. I love the shots. I have some really really great shots of her with very little clothing and some incredible tasteful nudes. I may put those on my expecting page on the studio 6 site with ruby's permission.

Nina and the dark clouds

Nina had her session on a sunny day, but when we got started the black clouds rolled in. It didn't rain but it got very dark quite quickly. We need to do a few more soon on a brighter day.

a kayak and a smile

I was very impressed when meeting Briant. He is a very nice yong man and is very passionate about kayaking. The only shots he wanted has with his kayak. The entire time he was in his kayak he was smiling. The sun was very harsh, not a cloud in the sky. The worst light we could have for portraits, but Briant didn't mind. He was just happy to be kayaking. Besides the small ammount of squinting, which is unavoidable,I think the shots are perfect. They capture his love for the sport.
We took a few more shots with controlled light. I shot them closer in case he may want one for the yearbook.

A brand new look!

D.J. came to the studio to finish his session. We shot his location session at his house a while ago. When he walked in he looked so different. He cut all his hair off. I love it. I decided to go with his new look.
I was talking to his mom and looked over and Derek had his hand on his chin. I told him to hold that pose. What a shot! A lot of times when you let your client relax and settle in to a pose it is more natural to them. I found out that derek was heading to golf practice, I decided to be the paparazzi and take some shots from far away.

I think we need to reshoot the water shots with his new hair, What so you think?

Real men wear pink

Matt came to the studio for a few shots before practice. I love the pink shirt. The blazer was my idea. Matt has a great look, I wanted the light to be a bit more dramatic than I've used on him in the past. Real men can wear pink and It looks great!

Brianna and zepplin'

Brianna had her session last week. She is a zepplin fan and brought her favorite tee to show it. She is a dancer and on the competition team for dance and cheeleading. She is very talented and has a great future ahead of her. I have known Brianna for over 15 years, she has matured into a beautiful young woman.

Still excited about Sunday's shoot

I woke up this morning and I am still very excited about Steve's program. He graciously gave his time to teach us light theory. He is such a busy man. He shoots 4 seniors a day 5 days a week. He photographs hundreds of seniors a season. I can't even fathom his schedule. I shoot about 8 a week and I feel like my summer consists of shooting and computer editing.
Steve's expertise on light is incredible. I love the classic look of his work, he gets very artsy as well. His visions are very inspiring. I will post some of his shots later this week when he sends them to us.
This week I will be experimenting with his theory's and see what I come up with.

Fantastic light in Portland!

What a great shoot. I went to Portland this morning for a shoot with about 15 other photographers to hone our skills with natural light photography. Done without flash, reflectors or any outside help other than the sun. Steve was our instructor from New Hampshire. He is a master photographer and is one of the best natural light photographers in New England.

Look at the eyes of the brunette. The catch lights in her eyes are absolutely gorgeous. All without any refelctor or flash fill! I love it! I can't wait for this weeks senior shoots. If any of the seniors I have already shot would like to be a model for me to practice the techniques, Just give me a call. If I don't practice these newly learned ideas, I will lose them. I wouldn't want that to happen. So give me a call! 562-9900.
Some of the shots are of Adam. Steve grabbed him as a model for direct sunlight shots. They are amazing!
